Between a Rocket and Hard Place [AZ Excursion A Exploration]

Area Zero was just as mysterious as the caverns, but far more chaotic. Time and space seemed to fluxuate here, and energies from the other worlds pulsed into this place. Zachary was more fascinated than afraid as he explored the area. He wasn't far from the camp, but was able to move around the area without too much difficulty. Partly due to the fact he had many psychic types and a good number that knew Teleport. A handy power, but more important for the events of exploring Area Zero and the cavern above-- was to escape in the event of danger. Zachary and whatever colleagues he had, would easily be wisked away back to the camp where they came from. [break][break] This time, Zachary went alone to explore one of the caverns that grew various crystals. He had figured out many of these crystals carried essential energy for pokemon of certain types. It explained why some would just show up and could survive in this place, despite being so deep underground and where space-time was warped. The closest thing he had ever seen similar was when a Pokemon teleported. This time, Zachary wanted to try and find one that resonated to Psychic Types, or those outside of the generic elemental attributes. Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, ext. [break][break] As he and Dizzy passed by a few crystals-- something did stick out. Ruins. Ruins of old structures, looking like someone had lived down there in ancient times. Facinated, Zachary looked over the building, finding ancient carvings. The carvings reminded him of ones he saw back on Mt. Pyre. [break][break] His pokemon with him, Dizzy the Delphox and Tarot the Kadabra, kept close to him-- to watch his back. Or for the Kadabra, a golden opportunity to prank Zachary if he got the chance. However, even here-- Tarot knew this was a dangerous place and kept his pranks to a minimum. [break][break] "Amazing... either people from some world had lived down here-- or it is possible these ruins were translocated down here. But still. the idea if Pokemon can make this a habitat, why not people? INcredible," Zachary said as he took down some notes and took photos with his Poketec. [break][break] However... he didn't realize he was being watched-- and from the most menacing of fellows. He had no idea the danger he was about to wind up in. [break][break]

Observation was always a key component of how Amor fought. To study, and understand an opponent to find the best way to counter him was his preferred style of doing battle. It wasn't glamourous, or heroic by any measure, but it was effective. It was why he didn't mind taking losses to gather intel on an enemy all the while not revealing his hand fully. They had cordoned off a section of this place to serve as their grounds for gathering Tera Shards, and Crystals, which is why when he was alerted that someone was trespassing he frowned.

If it was a Leaguer he felt it prudent to deal with them quickly so they couldn't gather intel on them, but upon arriving at the scene, and spotting the intruder he frowned as he didn't recognize this one. Navy needed to keep untested people away from Rocket territory....Either this person was foolhardy, strong, or oblivious. That was his assessment of them.

So he stayed perched upon the high ground above the intruder, and made himself known. There was no need to bother sneak attacking someone who had purposefully wandered into Rockets area.

"What are you doing here?" Came the robotic voice, it echoed against the walls that they were in, and in a flash of brilliant light a Zeraora would appear. It was a threat for if this person tried to run away. "You're not a grunt, so I can only assume you work for the League....Which means I have to dispose of you if you're answer isn't satisfactory...." Electricity sparked on the fur of his pokemon, and so now he waited for the answer to his questions. The fate of this newcomer was now going to be decided on how they reacted to the blatant threats that were being hurdled at them.

This was bad. As in, very, very bad. Last thing Zachary thought was to head righti into a trap made by Team Rocket. He knew about them, but figured he could avoid such conflict. And now, he was in front of a pokemon he never seen before, and a voice echoing around him, accusing him of being a league member. Which, was true. [break][break] Dizzy growled defensively, not about to let this attacker threaten his trainer. Tarot, on the other hand, looked on with a neutral look of distain to the Electric cat as well as challenge. Unlike Zachary or Dizzy, the Kadabra showed no sign of fear or hesitation. However, an all out fight was not a good idea, in an unknown place with an unseen foe somewhere nearby. [break][break] So in the spirit of his Delphox companion, he would try to 'out-fox' his foe. He kept calm and looked up above to the voice around him. " Well, looks can be deceiving. Or are you so willing to attack a member of the Dark Triad of all people. Even you should know what hell that would bring upon you." Zachary said. [break][break] Dizzy gave Zachary a dumbfounded look, but said nothing. The Dark Triad-- the other mysterious group who had been lurking around here, and whom Zachary and Elise Calcifet had encountered here as well. No doubt, this person may have heard of them. As both were related, shadowy groups, perhaps his bluff would give him some chance of survival. "I imagine my superiors wouldn't be too happy to hear that Rocket struck a blow by killing one of our kind. Maybe you're the one who need to rethink things? Let me pass, and I promise I will cause you no further trouble." He offered, trying to sound both unthreatened and cool. [break][break] Of course, he looked nothing like those masked freaks, and had Pokemon far different from the Unown they used. However, perhaps the convincing use of "Psychic" types, would give him some merit. [break][break] All the same, Kadabra kept his spoon up at the mystery pokemon. [break][break]

There wouldn't be a way for the other to see the look on Amor's face, with his helm, and armor in the way. However there was a piercing stare being directed at the other. Were they some kind of idiot? Did they not know that posing as a person who was part of a group that was unanimously hated by the entire region, Rocket, and League both was an act of idiocy? For a moment he just sat there silently, and continued to stare at the audacity of this teenager. Amor had never heard a lie like that before, but it would do little to deter him. After having dealt with the Dark Triad on more than a few occasions he sincerely doubted this boy was one of them.

"Yes well....Your superiors can recover the corpse if I leave one...." The robotic voice threatened the other one easily, but that is all it would be. Amor had no interest in killing children, there was no glory there, no purpose. "Begin...." He gave the order to his Zeraora who leapt into action immediately, both of it's fists glowing with blue lightning as it attempted to slam the Plasma Fists attack into the enemies Kadabra.

Amor had no data to draw from on this person, but considering they were fielding a pokemon that hadn't reached it's full potential yet, tipped him off to just how green they were. Hopefully he wouldn't have to resort to fielding to many of his powerful pokemon in this exchange. It would be a terrible showing if he was forced to rely on more than a few. Though this newcomer could have some interesting surprises in store for him.

Zachary hoped his lie would give some pause... but that turned out to be a mistake! The Rocket didn't hesitate and clearly wasn't phased. A frown formed on Zachary's face his pocket face shot to hell. "Well, clearly THAT LIE didn't get me anywhere..." Zachary responded with a sigh, realizing he couldn't fib his way out of it. Dizzy the Delphox gave an annoyed glare at Zachary, knowing it wouldn't of worked. [break][break]

[break][break] Kadabra was well aware and never dropped its guard, as it focused on the enemy Zeraora! At that very moment the pokemon attacked-- Kadabra used his own power. Psychic. Without order or direction, the Kadabra, Tarot, acted on his own and telekinetically grasped hold of his target. The Plasma fist would stop mid-way as Zeraora would find itself in mid-air. In that instant, Kadabra's spoon bent back forward. As a result Zeraora went flying in the opposite direction, repelling the attack and in hope, doing some damage. [break][break] Sweat showed on Zachary as he lowered his arms, having kept up his guard. "That was close. Thanks, Tarot," So in the spirit of his Delphox companion, he would try to 'out-fox' his foe. He kept calm and looked up above to the voice around him. " Well, looks can be deceiving. Or are you so willing to attack a member of the Dark Triad of all people. Even you should know what hell that would bring upon you." Zachary said. [break][break] It was obvious now that Zachary was just another League kid, a civilian at best. He was now up to his neck in trouble. " I guess your not as much of a showoff as your other rocket thugs. I figured as flashy as you guys are wouldn't hide your face like this!" he mocked, trying to understand what was going on and why this Rocket was here. Without seeing the trainer, he didn't know where to really look or what danger would come from next. He offered, trying to sound both unthreatened and cool. [break][break] Kadabra still stared daggers at the Zeraora, trying to be ready for its counter attack. [break][break]

Right before his attack landed the Kadabra caught them midair as his Zeraora's body gained an eerie glow to it, and then with no ceremony he was thrown backwards. Digging his electrified claws into the earth to slow his momentum, gouging the earth as a result. When he came to a full stop he let loose a low growl, and shook his electrified fur causing sparks to dance across the surface of his body as he regarded the pokemon in front of him.

A simple yet effective maneuver to counter his charge, but the same trick wouldn't work twice on him. There was an ominous sickly purple glow that emanated from his Zeraora, before it opened it's mouth, and shot a ball of strange liquid at the Kadabra. If the Toxic hit that would all but ensure the Kadabra wouldn't be able to do anything, but they knew that it could just try to fling it back, and because of that his Zeraora rushed forward once more, using it's first attack as a cover to attempt to land another Plasma Fists on the frail psychic type.

"I'm not stupid....You're not Dark Triad....As far as I know they don't use kids as soldiers, and you don't even have an Unown with you...." There was exasperation despite the robotic nature of his voice. There was damage from the Psychic attack, but it would take more than that in order to keep his pokemon down. "Besides....They'd be wasting their effort on me since I'm not one of their true targets...." No he knew the kinds of people that the Triad actually targeted, and he wasn't blessed with any special powers like Avatars.

Amor was in no danger of being assassinated by them, so he was willing to call this bluff for what it was.

TLDR
Zeraora takes some damage from the Psychic!
Zeraora launches a Toxic at the Kadabra!
Zeraora follows up with another Plasma Fists aimed at Kadabra!

THe incoming Toxic ball of guk clearly wasn't to Tarot's liking. Zachary didn't even get out an order-- as his Kadabra wasn't just very independent. He also was one of the Pokemon who 'wouldn't' obey its trainer. It was very gifted and strong, but rarely did what Zachary told him to do. However, this case while Tarot was the definition of 'problem with authority', he did care for his friend and trainer. He would not let him come to harm. [break][break] Kadabra soon had his spoon bend, casting Kinesis. In that moment, the toxic ball stopped mid air, and splattered to bits away from Kadabra. A simple move, meant to disarmt he accuracy of attacks by telekinetically controlling its trajectory. [break][break] However, the speed of the PLasma fists came far faster to Kadabra. Wide eyes showed as Kadabra was face to face with the electric cat! Kadabra took the hit, unable to react in time -- and was sent sprawling on the ground. A groan escaped Tarot as he laid there, knocked out. [break][break] A drop of sweat showed on Zachary as he turned to his Delphox. "Please tell me he didn't just knock out our big bun in three seconds flat?!" Zachary gasped, to which his Delphox let out a surprised bark of his own. [break][break] Now they were unguareded by the big Zeraora, intending to act on the Rocket's next violent act. Zachary recalled his Kadabra, returning him back to the Pokeball. Not about to play fair against such a superior opponent, this was now a fight for survival. He took out two Pokeballs, drawn on the surface of them a "0" and a "XVIII" on it, symbolizing something important. "I call upon the Fool and the Moon. Happy! Anubis!" He tossed both balls into the air, and the two snapped open with a burst of light. [break][break] From the Pokeballs, out appeared two odd choices. A cheerful little Mime Jr. and an upright Umbreon. As the two made their little appearances, Umbreon was right to work glaring at the Zeraora, feeling the need to protect his trainer and his friends. [break][break] "Happy, use Reflect! Anubis-- Dark Pulse!" Zachary cried, issuing the orders to them. [break][break] Realizing this was no time to joke around, Happy was the first to act and raised his little arms with a 'happy cry'. A magical wall of light erected itself like a sheet of glass. The resolute barrier of Reflect never failed when it came from Mime Jr. [break][break] From the safety behind the magical wall, Anubis didn't hesitate and took action. With a growl, its rings on its body glowed bright, illuminating the darkness. It roared, and out from its mouth appeared a series of spiraling, dark energy. The streams flew forward, attempting to strike the enemy![break][break] "You will have to forgive me for the lying, but I have no intention of dying here by the hand of Team Rocket. So do your worst, cause we ain't backing down!" Zachary said, showing his resolve to get out of this in one piece. . [break][break]

Interesting....

The boy wasn't an idiot at the very least, or so he surmised. Well perhaps that wasn't quite right after seeing one of his pokemon get flattened he still continued up with his defiance. That was idiotic, but he could respect the resolve to keep fighting against someone much stronger than yourself. Amor was like that himself, it was the only way to grow stronger at the end of the day. However there was a time to retreat if someone outclassed you past a certain point, and this boy didn't realize just how outmatched he truly was. A Mime Jr. and an Umbreon were interesting choices....In a flash of light his Magerana appeared, and it Locked-On to the supporting pokemon of Mime Jr. If it knew any other moves it could be cumbersome, and he wasn't interested in letting it set up any further obstacles for him.

Pressing both of it's palms together it would unleash a powerful Fleur Cannon towards the Mime Jr, in an attempt to simply take it out, meanwhile his Zeraora would rush towards the Umbreon once again with purple energy surrounding it's arms as it attempted to use Dragon Hammer against it. Though of course the power was going to be reduced thanks to that Reflect, but it wouldn't hamper his Magearna at the very least.

"Do my worst huh...." He let the robotic chuckle escape his lips. "With a team like yours....My worst would wind up with many more dead...." To him it was a simple fact, this boy had no idea what he was truly asking for, and blind defiance could only get you so far. That was okay, after this he was sure that the child would realize the drastic difference in their abilities.

Quell the threat before it even appears, or maybe he was just creating a new one.

TLDR
Magearna appears!
Magearna uses Lock-On on Mime Jr., and follows up with a Fleur Cannon!
Zeraora uses Dragon Hammer on Umbreon!

Things were getting out of hand quick! In another flash, a new Pokemon Zachary had never seen emerged. This one looking like a robotic poppet with working clockwork in it. "What are these things anyway?" Zachary murmured as he took out his Pokedex. [break][break]

" Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokemon. A mythical pokemon with sharp claws and lightning-fast speeds, capable of tearing its prey to shreds with electrified claws. "

"Magnearna, the Artifical Pokemon. A mythical pokemon, A pokemon constructed by man over 500 years ago. Its body is but an artificial vessel, its true form-- its heart-- contained within. "

[break][break] Zachary's eyes widened with overwhelmed shock. "MYTHICAL POKEMON?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Zachary gasped. [break][break] Happy's barrier was a smart move, as it always was with the little guy being a defensive support by nature. However, the robotic-doll Pokemon didn't waste time and hit Happy using the Lock on and mystical cannon. Happy gasped as the flash went off and it blew up in his face. Happy let out a squeak of a scream as he was sent flying through the air to Zachary! [break][break] He went so fast, he was like a ball-- to which Zachary jumped up immediately. He caught the poor Mime Jr mid-air, just in time before he fell somewhere in the cave floor. "Happy!" Zachary cried, seeing his Mime Jr. He was bruised badly from the canon flash, and completely incapacitated. Even for an unevolved Pokemon like him, he didn't stand a chance. Regretfully, Zachary got out his Pokeball and returned the Mime Jr to the ball for safety. [break][break] Anubis the Umbreon saw all this-- and was now pissed! No one hurt his trainer or his friends and not pay the price! Anubis saw the incoming Zeaora with Dragon Hammer-- to which thankfully, Happy's Reflect defensive field protected a margin of it. The Hammer gave a shake against Umbreon, but not the full impact-- which gave the little avenger an opening. [break][break] "Foul Play! Now, Anubis!" Zachary cried. Anubis made no objection as its body glowed with a pitch-black energy. In retaliation to the lightning cat's attack, the Umbreon lunged and struck with a dark-empowered ram of its body. The combined power and the dark energy-- focusing on the difference between their attack power, showed in the form of an ultimate counter-attack. [break][break] Anubis' rings glew brighter in his renewed hatred for hurting his friends, but that wouldn't be enough. [break][break] Could Zachary run, sure? Would he be allowed to-- if this Rocket Guy had true value to keep their location undiscovered, of course not! They would either capture or kill Zachary to keep him quiet. He had a way out-- if he could use it. But now, his only option was to fight, and he was not going to give up. One way or another, he had to endure this. [break][break]

The counter attack struck against his Zeraora was heavy to say the least. It was a good tactic, and it left his Zeraora heavily damaged as he was slammed into with his own power thanks to the power of Foul Play. However that still wasn't enough to completely take the lightning cat down, and it fell back to his side leaving just his Magearna out in the front, and it was already charging up another powerful cannon attack.

"I'll give you this piece of advice before we part ways....Stay in your own weight class kid....It might save your life against someone who isn't as nice as I am...." With that his Magearna Locked On to the Umbreon, and unleashed a powerful Zap Cannon towards it. A stream of electrical energy emerging from it's hand, and homing in on the dark fox, even if it survived this, it would be paralyzed. There was however another reason for him to use this tactic.

It was to blow both the pokemon, and the trainer away, and leave them be so that he could back to more important work at the nearby Rocket encampment. Beating up a child wasn't going ot earn him any renown, or anything of the like so he didn't particularly care what happened after he left either way.
